'We all are scared': Immigrants avoid school, church, routines amid Trump threat of arrests

President Trump's crackdown on undocumented immigrants has disrupted life for thousands of families and may leave many people with no place to go.

To be an immigrant without permanent status in South Florida today is to live in fear. Ask Oriana, 16, a high-school student who lives in dread of a knock on the door and the deportation of her family this spring.

“My parents came here so I could go to college and have a career and for my little sister not to grow up surrounded by threats,” said Oriana, whose family fled Venezuela in an era of violence. “But now, we are back to living in fear.”
